Overview

A planetary pole shift, ... despite the cause may present viable threats to the human race by disrupting the surface of the planet and magnetic features we depend upon. Plants and animals are subject to the changes in the earths bio rhythms which is in itself contingent upon those same features. The realization for impending and immediate dangers associated with poles shifts of any kind will always be a topic of skepticism, .... until such as time when it actually occurs. Relevant data and historical references indicate the potential for such an event to exist within our cycle of societal life time.

.

The following information is intended to enlighten and provoke curiosity for survival minded enthusiasts on the impacts associated with a severe pole shift.

.

What is a pole shift?

.

There are two types of pole shifts.

The terrestrial shift which is where the land masses actually move from their current positions to new ones, ... sometimes thousands of kilometers away.

The magnetic shift is a flip in the Earth’s magnetic field where the north and south poles exchange places.

.

Terrestrial pole shift

A terrestrial type pole shift is typically described as movement occurring over thousands of years, ... somewhat similar to continental drift. The difference between continental drift and terrestrial pole shift pertains to tectonic plates. Continental drift depicts movement between the plates as the Earths surface configuration and appearance changes over long periods of time as it adjusts. The concept of terrestrial shifting involves a slipping movement of all plate surfaces together in unison. This type of shift might be demonstrated by imagining and outer skin or crust rolling around an inner material acting similar to how an inner and outer wheel barring relate to one another. It is the physical shifting or rolling of land mass which is thought to occur over long and unnoticeable periods of time with some interesting and alarming exceptions.

.

Magnetic pole shift

The Earth has a magnetic field around it protecting the inhabitants from a number of harmful effects of the cosmos. The field is balanced with a north and south end just like a magnet. The magnetic field around the Earth is generated by the movement of molten iron in the outer core. When working properly it protects us from particle storms, cosmic rays, UV type B radiation and subatomic particles flying in from deep space. Without it the ozone layer would be eroded, and we would be exposed to almost everything the universe has to throw at us.

Every now and then the force of the magnetic field reduces until it is almost not there at all. At this point the magnetic poles flip over and the poles exchange places. The geological record tells us that there have been many such reversals, some more violent than others.

The Earths magnetic field has been weakening for 150 years now, but the weakening is not uniform. Professor Elgil Friis-Christensen former director of Denmark’s National Space Institute told the BBC:

Some local areas, … such as in the South Atlantic, … the field has gone down 10% in just the last 20 years. We do not know whether we will go into a reversal or whether the global field will recover.

The magnetic North Pole has been on the move for some time, moving from northern Canada towards Russia at a rate of 25-40 miles a year. The speed of movement has increased during the last decade. This increase coincides with the increase in the weakening of the field. Magnetic pole shifts can occur slowly over time and is suspected as having occurred rapidly on occasion disrupting the Earth and those inhabitants living on it at the time of the event. Rapid magnetic pole shifts leave measurable evidence said to be applicable to historical time lines and relaxant to cataclysmic events here on Earth.

What causes a pole shift?

.

Terrestrial

Terrestrial and magnetic poles shift may have some similar causes despite the variation in descriptive results. Many believe that both are relative. Time certainly seems to be a common factor with both however, ... there are intricacies associated with causes for terrestrial shifts that focus on cosmic anomalies and conspiracy theories. Many believe a pole shift may be imminent as a result of planetary alignments coupled with a catalyst of sorts which will initiate a rapid slipping or rotation of crust and of geographical pole locations. Additional causes for a terrestrial land and pole shift may be associated with the arrival of what has been described as "Planet X" or "NIBIRU".  There are countless articles on the internet talking about this mysterious planet, ... some of which refer to it as the possible ‘murderer’ of Earth. All kinds of dreadful gravitational phenomena are imposed on smaller planetary spheres  when NIBIRU passes nearby. Some even argue that Planet X or Nibiru poses a threat to Earth, and that one day it will collide against our planet or tear it sideways. Science argues that it might even exist, but they just haven seen it yet. Mythologically speaking, Nibiru is present in many ancient Sumerian writings and according to the ancient cuneiform texts are believed to be some of the oldest writings known to date, ... going back at least 6,000 to 10,000 years. These writings explain the history of a race of beings called the Anunnaki. The Anunnaki came to Earth from a planet in our solar system which is called Nibiru. The orbit of Nibiru around the sun is believed to be extremely elliptical, and according to text, it is located far beyond the orbit of Pluto. Nibiru takes around 3600 years to complete one orbit around the Sun. It has been said that Nibiru passes close to Earth one time per cycle which coincides with historical disasters, ... due to gravitational intricacies and pole shifts. Nibiru is believed to be the home planet of the Anunnaki. The approach of Nibiru towards the planets of our solar system might pose a huge threat given its gravitational characteristics. It is an incredibly large planet.

There are speculations supported by recent data which may explain rapid movement of land mass and pole shift events. These events are suspected as being caused by cosmic forces such as a dynamic impact by an asteroid or comet. Such events leave magnetic imprints on the Earth revealing unsuspected changes in the life cycle of Earth. [Relative source]

.

Magnetic

A magnetic pole reversal occurs when the earth’s north and south poles swap places, reversing the world’s magnetic polarity which has happened before. Scientists find evidence of previous Armageddon-style destruction by identifying “chaotic sediments” where narrow layers of earth, rock and ice have recorded oddball events in the earth’s history. The layers form bands comprised of mud and tiny magnetically-charged fragments indicative of severe or violent activity. For scientists, ... these are clear indicators of sudden floods, ice-melt and ash deposits. When these layers are in representation of a time or incident outside Earths normal cycles, ... it is an indicator of a pole shift. Scientists who track the history of the planet have identified 74 of these events by studying core samples. As indicated above, ... this type of pole shift is also subject to planetary anomalies such as with the potential arrival of "NIBIRU, (Planet X).

Other potentials given for consideration are those associated with the hollow Earth theory. There is plenty of evidence in support of and contrary too the hollow Earth hypothesis which includes creditable ventures by well know explorers and military officers first hand experiences. All the evidence and data can be explored on the internet here. [Sources]

What are the effects of a pole shift?

.

Terrestrial

The effects from a terrestrial pole shift are typically assumed to be spread over time, ... many thousands of years as believed. Those effects as such would not be noticed by the present cycle of human life here on Earth. However, ... if circumstances provided a catalysts such as suspected in the "shock dynamics" hypothesis than it may likely explain rapid pole shift scenarios. Just the same would support rapid changes in climate which of course kills off unsuspecting life forms in the process. The concept of shock dynamics adds to the potential for rapid land rotation or slip further supporting dangers associated with terrestrial pole shifting.

.

Magnetic

Recent signs have been exposed within the increases of natural disasters and other strange and unrelated incidents which point towards a possible pending pole reversal. Berkeley scientists say that the Earth’s magnetic field can weaken and dip within just 100 years before flipping.– an event they admit could wreck the entire world’s power grid and expose the world to deadly cosmic rays. A sudden shift would throw the earth’s balance out significantly and could trigger lethal earthquakes, tsunami's and volcanic activity on a scale we can hardly imagine. Pole shifts can cause major increases in the movement of the tectonic plates. It's those giant opposing cracks in the earth’s crust which push and grind against each other until they periodically release causing earthquakes etc. The magnetic field has been diminishing for years and as time moves on the speed of that reduction increases. Despite the chances of this process being cyclic and natural it certainly posses a threat for life forms living on Earth. The Earths magnetic field is a part of our Eco system in a sense that it is an integral part of maintaining balance and motion which humans rely upon. The following are key notations associated with Earths magnetic field.

.

⇒   Magnetic field strength is directly related or proportional to the growth of planets and ozone. Ozone is the filter that takes out most ultraviolet B radiation, the type most harmful to human and animals will be depleted without the magnetic field there to protect it. Skin cancers and severe sunburn will increase. Cataracts and blindness can rise exponentially as the ozone reduces.

⇒   Holes in the ozone allow warming of the oceans.

Warmer ocean regions allow for additional precipitation and larger weather related to the increased frequency and amplification of hurricanes, cyclones and typhoons to form.

Climate changes are also the results of mild but steady pole shifts which is why some areas are experiencing warm seas and rising sea levels.

Pole shifts are not synchronized between north and south pole movements.  For a short while we may have two, or more south or north poles, ... as the fields adjusts and settles into new positions. It’s  unknown as to how long the planet would be without the natural shielding effects of the field but may present dangerous conditions during the process.

.

Additional effects and conditions associated with a severe magnetic shifts are suspected as having drastic impacts of failure to those living withing modern societies. Electrical power grids and other technology may stop working for some time,... enough time to cause progressive chaos.

Evidence of rapid pole shifts.

.

The first time evidence was discovered of a rapid geomagnetic field reversal was in 1995 when well-preserved were found at Steens Mountain in Oregon in the US. Research on the rocks by a team led by geologist Scott Bogue of the Occidental College in Los Angeles revealed the lava flow had an unusual magnetic pattern that suggested the had been shifting over 10,000 times faster than normal, at six degrees a day. The magnetic patterns are preserved within the magnetic crystals in the lava, formed as the lava flow cooled.

The first findings remained controversial and many scientists have challenged the fast flip-flop theory, but now Bogue and colleague Jonathan Glen of the US Geological Survey have found evidence in ancient lava rock in Battle Mountain, Nevada of a second fast flip.
